SERASI is a USAID funded project which supports Indonesia's continuing evolution into a peaceful, just and democratic nation with respect for pluralism and protection of human rights for all citizens, accomplished through rapid and flexible programmatic, administrative and logistical support for USAID's strategic grants and technical assistance program to mitigate social conflict and support peace building initiatives nationwide. Our program currently includes activities planned for Aceh, Papua, Sulawesi, and the Malukus. SERASI is implemented by the International Relief and Develop (IRD), an international non-profit organization in Indonesia.

Job Description :
Provides day-to-day IT and help desk support and assistance to program staff/office of approximately 15 persons.
Must be willing and able to work as part of a team that supports end users with a variety of IT needs.
Responsible for providing hardware and software solutions; solving wireless networking issues; establishing email accounts; laptop setups; website development assistance; and database support.

Required Qualifications:

Qualified candidates should have a university-level degree in Computer Science or related field. Strongest applicants will have experience working with MS Windows Server 2003; MS Office; Virtual Private Network (VPN); GPS devices; and capable of designing intranet site for project use.

General Requirements:

Must have a willingness to travel to SERASI field offices for business purposes. Must also have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. In addition, must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision of the FAO Representative, direct supervision of Assistant FAOR (Administration) and in cooperation with the National Consultant on Fisheries Marketing and the Administrative Officer of the FAO Rehabilitation Coordination Support Unit of Banda Aceh, the administrative clerk will perform Project Secretary. He/she will specifically perform the following tasks:

1. Maintain Filling document system, receive/send correspondence, and direct communications to the persons concerns; maintain records of such communications; answer telephone and respond to routine inquiries
2. Responsible and assists in preparation of monthly cash account by recording receipts and disbursements (ledgers, cash books, vouchers, etc.) and reconciling data for recurring or special reports.
3. When authorized makes disbursement from petty cash fund, maintains records of these disbursement and balance accounts as required.
4. Draft routine correspondence, telegrams, memoranda and reports from oral instructions, previous correspondence or other available information sources in accordance with standard office procedures.
5. Makes travel and hotel reservation prepares travel authorization forms and assembles information pertinent to purpose of travel.
6. Assist staff with security clearances and airline reservations
7. Assist with the organization of meetings, seminars, etc
8. Performs other related duties as required


Duty Station:
Medan, North Sumatra Province.

Assignment:
Start in November 2008.

Duration of Assignment:
Initial contract 3 months with possible extension up to 12 months period.

Qualifications required:
The administrataive clerk will be a holder of academic degree or diploma in Business Administration, Economic or related fields and having a minimum of 1 year work experience. Work experience in International Organization such as UN Agencies is a benefit. Knowledge on computer operation (MS Office) is a must. Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English is required. Qualified local candidates from NAD are most recommended to apply..

Environmental Health Technical Program Manager

The Canadian Red Cross (CRC) is implementing a major community-based reconstruction and rehabilitation program with the primary focus on shelter construction project in Aceh Besar, Lamno, Calang and Nias for beneficiaries affected by Tsunami of December 26, 2004 and earthquake of March 28, 2005.
We are also implementing Livelihood, Environmental Health and Disaster Preparedness Management programs to help families and communities to improve their live quality. We are looking for qualified and committed candidates to fill the following position on a fixed term contract basis.

Environmental Health Technical Program Manager
(Ref Code: EHTPM) Based in Banda Aceh with 50% in Field (Aceh Besar, Lamno and Calang)

Standard function description:

Is responsible to actively participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of environmental health activities in the CRC's operational area. Environmental health activities include water supply, sanitation, hygiene education, malaria mitigation and solid waste management. Based in Banda Aceh, the EH Technical Program Manager will be required to spend roughly 50% of his/her time roving between 3 field sites: Aceh Besar, Lamno and Calang. The Candidate will also be responsible for providing technical support and capacity building to CRC Environmental Health field staff and project management support to the Environmental Health hardware team.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

* Oversee field assessment of water and sanitation conditions in schools, health clinics and villages in relation to environmental and public health, guided by Sphere standards and Government of Indonesia (GOI) standards.

* Provide technical support and supervision to Environmental Health coordinators and field staff in three field offices, including verifying engineering drawings and specifications, bill or quantity and order requisitions.

* Coordinate with Environmental Health hardware team to develop/improve appropriate M&E tools, and support implementation of M&E in the field. Maintain a spreadsheet of ongoing and completed infrastructure

* Provide project management support to Environmental Health hardware team to ensure that hardware projects are complete on schedule, and assisting with reporting and program planning.

* Prepare assessment materials, surveys, questionnaires and other community engagement tools as required.

* Provide data analysis (for example of malaria trends) as requested

* Provide support for design and implementation of solid waste management (SWM) program.

* Oversee and provide support for the construction of small-scale medical waste incinerators and provide training to health care workers on safe operation.

* Provide support for community composting and the development of a community-based waste primary waste collection system.

* Provide monthly progress reports on Environmental Health hardware program.

* Attend and participate in inter-agency coordination meetings as required.

* Work in accordance with the Red Cross/Red Crescent principles.

* Provide support to the software program coordinator regarding hygiene promotion, malaria and gender programming, as requested.

* Other duties as requested by supervisor.

General Duties

* Apply the security rules at all times

* Respects and observes the staff regulations of the CRC in Indonesia

* Respects and observes the code of conduct of the CRC in Indonesia

* The employee may be asked to perform duties and task not covered in this job description as well as to provide support to other departments when necessary

Minimum required knowledge & experience:

* Engineering experience in overseeing construction and design of water supply system (including shallow wells, rainwater catchment, gravity fed water supply, and tap stands), sanitation (latrines, septic tanks and constructed wetlands), and solid waste management (composting, medical waste incinerators)

* Engineering experience in producing engineering drawings and bill of quantities

* Experience in community outreach, mobilization and training

* Experience with Participatory Methodologies (PRA, RRA, PHAST).

* Project management, program development and planning experience.

* Experience in developing budgets and tracking expenditure

* Experience in writing reports

* Excellent communication skills: Written and spoken English; Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Aceh an asset

* Computer skills including MS Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, graphics software

Education/Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree with emphasis on water, sanitation and public health plus five years relevant work experience

Oxfam GB Makassar_Consultants needed for Data Collection

Oxfam GB is an international NGO working in over 80 countries to address poverty and suffering through development, humanitarian intervention and advocacy work. With some 255,000 lives lost to natural disasters and conflict over the last three years, along with 1.4 million people displaced from their homes, the challenges facing Indonesia are considerable. Right now, we're working to ensure food and income security of the poor and marginalized small island communities in Indonesia.
To measure how the project have been contributing to the livelihood of the poor and vulnerable household in the project side in 5 (five) small islands in Indonesia (Buton, Muna, Tunda, Aru and Tanimbar), Oxfam GB in Makassar Area recruits a consultant as follows:

You must have basic knowledge in statistic and research methodology.
