JOB VACANCY: PROVINCIAL COMMUNICATION COORDINATOR

An NGO-managed education project operating in seven provinces in
Indonesia seeks qualified candidates for Provincial Communication Coordinator (Based in Banda Aceh) position.
The Communications Coordinator reports to the Provincial Coordinator, and works closely with the Jakarta-based Communications Specialist and Information Officer. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing a strategic internal and external communications plan tailored to program activities at the provincial level. This position prepares draft public relations materials as well as responses to queries received from a variety of sources such as USAID, GOI provincial and district-level stakeholders and the general public. The communications coordinator is responsible for the creation and production of materials describing DBE 2 provincial activities. All strategies and products must comply with the guidelines set by USAID and the DBE 2 Jakarta Communications Specialist.Â

Qualifications
* University degree in communications, journalism, international relations or equivalent combination of education and work experience
* Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience required including a strong background in communications, editing and presentation, and use of computer software pertinent to those skills
* Demonstrated experience working with the government sector required; experience working with multi-national organizations preferred
* Knowledge of communication networks in (the province), and key institutions and individuals with a role in shaping public opinion
* Excellent research skills; extensive familiarity using the Internet for research purposes
* Proven background building relationships/ networking with government authorities, private sector and the media
* Demonstrated experience designing and producing reports, brochures, briefing packets and other outreach materials using professional desktop publishing and PowerPoint presentation software
* Extensive experience researching, writing, editing, and publishing press releases and other public documentation
* Excellent written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia

URGENT: ADMINISTRATION OFFICER - SOUTH SULAWESI

USAID-supported project seeks additional experienced professionals to fill the Administration Officer based in South Sulawesi to support a national project to rapidly increase immunization coverage.

S/he will be responsible for the all administration and office operations functions for PCHC Indonesia South Sulawesi field office including the operations and upkeep of PCHC office facilities and administrative project support functions. Key tasks include formally establishing office facilities and assuring regular maintenance, establishing and managing a filing system, supervision of administrative support staff and vehicle fleet, and day-to-day office management functions.

Requirements: University degree, minimum 5 years experience in an equivalent position, experience working in a similar position in an NGO or an international organization, knowledge of USAID supported programs, excellent command over the English language. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment and willing to travel to districts on PCHC business, perform other duties and work irregular hours.

Duration of assignment is 7 month and starting date on August 1st, 2008.

TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Designing Water supply and Sanitation facilities in cooperation with Team leader / Engineer
* Prepare the Bill of Quantities of all Water supply and Sanitation Facilities in cooperation with Team leader / Engineer (public latrine, public fountain, public washing, rain collection tank, water supply, etc.)
* Adapt drawings of all Water supply Sanitation facilities drawn by Team leader / Engineer
* Be aware of the material we have in stock
* Adapt the strategy to field condition (sand and gravel collect…)
* Daily and weekly field report to the Team leader (or WatSan Program Coordinator)
* Coordinating daily work with the community mobilize (according to Team leader)
* Coordinating daily work (on the new houses to build) with the housing team (according to their time schedule)
* Make sure that drawings are understood and respected by the beneficiaries
* Supervision and responsibility of all material delivered to the construction site (transparency)



Requirements

* University degree (engineer) is preferred.
* Has 2 years technical background experience and water sanitation (watsan)
* NGO experience is preferred

Job Description: The Supply Chain Officer will be responsible for supporting the government to strengthen Papua¢s provincial procurement and supply chain management systems for HIV/AIDS-related commodities, including developing the provincial warehouse as a new regional distribution center for health care facilities in Papua and Papua Barat. The ultimate objective of this assistance to the government is to enable rapid scale-up of high quality ARV treatment to people living with HIV & AIDS. A dynamic, entrepreneurial individual with a proven track record in supply chain management (SCM) is sought for this role.
Responsibilities: Provide technical and managerial leadership to establish a comprehensive system for SCM of HIV/AIDS-related commodities, including operational plan, policies & procedures, tools for data capture and analysis, distribution logistics, training of clinic/pharmacy staff. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT @ BRITISH EMBASSY-JAKARTA

The British Embassy in Jakarta is looking for an administrative assistant to work in the Political Section on a fixed term three-month contract. The job will involve maintaining a database of contacts, arranging meetings with outside contacts, drawing up programmes for visitors and other administrative duties as required.
The ideal candidate will speak fluent Bahasa Indonesia and English, work well as part of a small team, have plenty of initiative, and be able to work under pressure at times. He or she will need to be IT literate.

The contract is only for three months with no extension, from early August to early November 2008. The position will be an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working in a high-profile section of a large Embassy, and to make contacts. The salary scale for the position starts at Rp4.5m a month.
