Program Coordinator for VTTC

Yayasan Usaha Mulia Foundation for Noble Work is a non profit organization that works to improve the quality of life of the poor and destitute in Indonesia.

For more than 40 years YUM has been operating projects that have assisted people across the country regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, age or gender.  Today YUM operates a range of Health, Education and Community Development projects in the Indonesian regions of Java and Central Kalimantan.

We are currently seeking applicants for Program Coordinator for Vocational & Technical Training Centre (VTTC)

Summary
Recognizing the current and future limit to formal employment in Palangkaraya (Central Kalimantan), Yayasan Usaha Mulia proposes to provide skills that lend themselves to self employment to young people 17-25 years old. YUM intends to establish a Vocational & Technical Training Center (VTTC) that will teach skills such as motor cycle mechanics, electrical and electronic practice, service and repair of mobile phones, refrigeration and air conditioning, as well as sewing, computing, English, etc. For those trainees who elect to set up own micro-businesses entrepreneurial training and, micro loans and after-training support will be made available.

The Coordinator will play a lead role in defining and maintaining the strategic direction of the program. In particular, the Coordinator will play a lead role in aligning activities with donor requirements and YUM strategic priorities.

Duties and responsibilities;
¢ Strategic Oversight and overall coordination of the VTTC
¢ Prepare Program Plans, reports, budget and cashflow forecasts
¢ Take lead responsibility for ensuring overall program quality
¢ Facilitate relevant linkages related to Youth Training and Development at the national and local level
¢ Monitor program activities in the field

Duty Station
Jakarta with frequent travel to training institution

Personal profile and required skills

- Degree in Social Sciences or other relevant discipline

- Minimal 5 years experience in development work including at least 3 years working on skills development/ vocational training projects

- Demonstrated success in design, monitoring and implementation of programs

- Ability to initiate collaboration with relevant government and industry players

- Solid experience in budget oversight and management

- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English
